Patrons rave about the mouthwatering dishes that reflect the soul of Louisiana. The Cajun bread, described as "bread covered in movie theater butter," exemplifies comfort and indulgence. Meanwhile, the signature Drunkin has been likened to the comforting stuffing of Thanksgiving, making it a memorable dish for all who try it. This flavorful fare resonates deeply with those familiar with Cajun culture, as $dining experiences seem to echo back to the warmth of gatherings during Mardi Gras.
Moreover, the experience at Yats doesn’t just stop at the food. The restaurant envelops you in a cheerful atmosphere, where upbeat music mingles with delectable aromas, making even the gloomiest days brighter. The owner is known for personally welcoming guests and sharing the vibrant culture behind the cuisine, further enhancing the dining journey.
In addition to the commendable food and service, many diners appreciate the recommendations from staff like AB and May, who go above and beyond to ensure guests find dishes that resonate with their tastes. The enthusiasm and knowledge shared reflects a deep passion for the food and culture Yats represents.
While some guests have expressed a wish for standard utensils over sporks, this minor detail pales in comparison to the overwhelmingly positive vibe and the extraordinary culinary offerings available. Yats Cajun Creole truly encapsulates the essence of comfort food, served with a side of southern charm. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make Yats Cajun Creole your next dining destination—you won’t leave disappointed!
“ Delicious! An employee named An, made sure I knew what I was ordering by giving me samples of everything, since I'd never been here before. He was quick, polite and friendly. The food was delicious. The Cajun bread was like bread covered in movie theater butter. Drunkin, reminded me of stuffing at Thanksgiving. ”
“ Why I didn't know about this place shows I need to get out more. Glad we got to eat here. 1st off AB was very informative and helpful. Explaining the menu to us and giving us his recommendation. If I had to complain about something it would be the sporks, I get it, nothing is cheap but maybe Regular fork and spoon would do. ”
“ As soon as we walked in, the owner welcomed us with an abundance of samples and a good smile. Very kind man, and even shared some time in devotion with us when we were done eating. I grew up in Shreveport, LA, so Cajun was a popular choice there. It felt like I was back in a good formal, Mardigras esk, and clean atmosphere. I highly recommend coming in to try the samples at a minimum (knowing you’ll stick around to eat as we did). ”
“ I stopped in on a cold day for a comfort meal. AB was super nice and helped me figure out a flavor I would love. The culture around the food, the atmosphere and obviously the food itself was amazing. I’ll definitely be back often and bringing friends. ”
“ My experience was amazing and will be coming back!! It was a cold and rainy day. When I first walked in the energy inside made the gloom disappear. The music and the atmosphere is amazing and the smell makes your mouth water. Then being greeted by May with her big smile and her ability to help me figure out the menu made the experience extremely enjoyable. And the food was incredible. Great service great food you can’t beat it! ”
“ Enormous portions for super cheap (like 12 or 13). And you can sample and mix and match! I can't say I have had a lot of Cajun, but this was excellent. Associate guided me to some good choices. Got the Maque Choux and Chilli Cheese Etoufee. Had this in Columbus Ohio. Excited to see one pop up in Fort Wayne! 4.8/5 ”
“ I really liked it. Walked in from a nice cool day outside and inside was blazingly warm and humid... almost uncomfortably so. That’s my only complaint. The menu was clear and easy to read. They do have kids meals too! Their desserts were out so we couldn’t try those, which was sad. I had the Chipotle Alexio... super creamy and only lightly spicy. Hubby had the jambalaya... he was SUPER impressed, and so was I! Like WOW. The flavor depth was incredible. Kids both had the chili and cheese, which ALSO very good... even Mr Picky ate it all. The kids love that it comes with cookies. Well worth a visit. Costs less than 50 for two adults and two kids. ”
“ First time trying them. We had it delivered. Everything was wonderful. Gumbo and the drunken chicken with whole loaf of Cajun bread. Peanut butter pie for dessert ( whole pie, of course). I would recommend trying them if you've never been there. We're looking forward to trying their other options ourselves ”
